I am an experienced Principle who has worked in Manchester for the last ten years. As part as a planned relocation, I have followed my wife and returned to Devon to be near my extended family and for a better quality of life. I plan to locum until I find a substantive post. My last post was as a salaried principle in the University Department of General Practice (ManchesterUniversity) at the Robert Darbishire Practice in Rushholme and Moss side. My contract terminates on 06/07/07 and I will be available for locum bookings after this date.
My special interests include Diabetes, Heart Failure, Gynaecology including infertility, and minor surgery. I have had the opportunity to develop as a teacher/trainer and would like to continue to do so.
I graduated from Sheffield (1993) and trained initially in gynaecology to the level of registrar. After 2 years at this grade I decided to do a self construct VTS scheme in Stockport (1999 – 2001). I obtained a merit in my MRCGP (2001). I worked in a small 2 man practice for a short while before entering the University Department of General practice. Whilst in this practice I have developed a role in both Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching. I completed my Basic Trainers’ Course in 2005 and intend to complete my Certificate in Medical Education (GP) in the future.
I am a keen diver and BSAC Instructor trainer. I enjoy walking and recently did the first half of the Pennine way. I kayak predominately in rivers but with the move intend to spread my wings into sea kayaking and sailing.
